Carousels is the fourth painting in the Constructed Romance series and is inspired by the historic carousel at the foot of Montmartre, a familiar part of Paris for generations of visitors. Associated with childhood, wonder and imagination, the carousel carries a sense of nostalgia — a feeling of wanting to hold onto something beautiful while knowing that the moment will pass.
